Storm Dennis: Met Eireann issues another weather warning for nine counties as gusts of up to 110km/h expected

Met Eireann has issued another weather warning this evening as Storm Dennis continues to batter Ireland.

The Status Yellow wind warning, which affects nine counties, was sent out at 7pm on Sunday night.

It's valid from 10pm tonight until 3am on Monday morning.

The warning is for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

It reads: "Southwest winds, veering westerly will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/h, strongest on exposed coasts and hills, with a risk of coastal flooding."

The counties affected are the same nine for which a Status Orange wind warning was issued yesterday afternoon.

That warning remains in place until 10pm and is succeeded by the Status Yellow warning above.

It reads: "Southwest winds with mean speeds of 60 to 80 km/h with severe gusts of up to 120km/h, strongest on exposed hills and coasts, with a risk of coastal flooding."

There is also a Status Orange gale marine warning in place.

The message for that reads: "Southwest gales or strong gales continuing this evening and for a time tonight on all Irish coastal waters and on the Irish Sea, occasionally touching storm force in Atlantic sea areas."
