Storm Dave to pummel UK with 90mph winds over bank holiday weekend

  • The Met Office has named a low-pressure system Storm Dave, issuing yellow weather warnings for severe winds across parts of the UK over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
  • The storm is expected to bring very strong winds, with gusts of up to 90mph possible in exposed locations, particularly in Scotland.
  • Widespread gusts of 50-60mph are anticipated across all warning areas, with 60-70mph possible in more exposed spots.
  • Yellow severe weather warnings for wind cover the entirety of Scotland, Northern Ireland, north Wales, and parts of northern England.
  • The most severe weather is forecast for Saturday evening through to Sunday, with up to 20cm of snow also expected in some areas.
