An unsuspecting pedestrian had a lucky escape on Saturday evening after they were hit by a falling tree as Storm Ciara batters the country.
Heavy rain and gusts of up to 110km/h have been pounding parts of the country making driving and walking conditions treacherous.
The unfortunate pedestrian was hit by a falling tree in Crumlin, Co. Dublin.
Firefighters and paramedics from Dolphin's Barn station raced to the patient's aid and they were treated for non-life threatening injuries, Dublin Live reports.
Dublin Fire Brigade took to Twitter on Saturday evening to remind people to stay safe during the storm.
They said: "Firefighter/Paramedics from Dolphin’s Barn have treated a patient for non-life threatening injuries in Crumlin after they were hit by an falling tree. #StormCiara is making herself known across the city.
"Take care if you are out and about. Orange warning in place from 0500."
Met Eireann have warned of powerful gusts of up to 130km/h and a "significant risk of coastal flooding" tomorrow.
The Orange wind warning remains in place until 12pm tomorrow while a Status Yellow rainfall warning will remain in place until 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
The forecaster said: “Damaging gusts are likely, as strong to gale force west to southwest winds persist, with the risk of thunder too.
“Very wet to begin with localised flooding; and whist it will brighten up with sunshine developing into the early afternoon, blustery showers will follow too. Highest temperatures will range from 9C to 11C.”
Sunday night will be cold with temperatures as low as 1C and there will be frost and ice with some snow possible by Monday morning.
