Storm Ciara is battering the UK with torrential rains and gusts of up to 97mph, sparking widespread travel chaos and "danger to life" hazards.
Buildings crumbled, trees toppled and passengers up and down the country were warned not to travel unless "absolutely necessary", as rivers burst their banks, airlines grounded flights and some 539,000 people were left without power.
Weather warnings have been issued across the country extending into Monday, with the Met Office advising that large waves in coastal areas and flying debris could cause injuries.
The fallout saw Sunday’s Women’s Six Nations meeting between Scotland and England called off, the temporary closure of one of London's busiest stations and a BA flight from the US break 800mph as winds propelled it along.
Dramatic footage also showed the wall of a Scottish guest house crumbling into the river.
