Storm Ciara hits Dumbarton and Alexandria - with more disruptive weather to come

Storm Ciara hit Dumbarton and Alexandria bringing gale force winds and heavy rainfall.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind in West Dunbartonshire over the weekend, as the entire UK was battered by the storm.

A yellow weather warning for wind and snow is still in place across the area until Tuesday, with another yellow weather warning in place for snow and ice on Wednesday.

And the above image from Lorraine Cameron was taken at the A82 slip road to Renton and shows the view towards Dumbarton and the cycle path.

Railway services were also affected across the area with trains cancelled between Helensburgh Central and Dumbarton Central on Sunday, with the service resuming at 5.25pm. Commuters using the Airdrie to Balloch line also faced delays yesterday morning (Monday).

Today (Tuesday) it will feel bitterly cold with westerly gales expected to bring wintry showers.
