Flooding cancels trains between Leeds, Bradford, Skipton and Ilkley - but some services have resumed

Train services between Leeds, Bradford, Skipton and Ilkley have been severely disrupted today after floodwater submerged the tracks in Kirkstall.

Network Rail initially released an update to say that no services would be running on the line until Tuesday at the earliest, as engineers tried to pump water off the tracks.

However, some services did resume at around 2pm this afternoon. A full service is expected to be running in time for peak services on Monday evening.

Operator Northern had warned passengers of the delays on social media, with replacement bus services between Shipley and Leeds for affected passengers throughout the morning.

There were 28 flood warnings and 13 alerts in Leeds and surrounding areas, with flooding expected and urgent action required.
