Storm Brendan is sweeping across the UK bringing battering gales of up to 80mph.
Airlines have been forced to divert flights due to the winds, while a severe weather warning has been issued for much of England.
Winds of around 60-70mph will continue to hit north-western Scotland.
Meteorologist Alex Burkill, from the Met Office, also said more wet and windy weather is forecast to come up from the south west on Tuesday afternoon.
