Storm Barra hour by hour forecast as Met Office issue weather warnings

Storm Barra is set to hit the UK on Tuesday, bringing strong gales and heavy showers.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind for most of the UK on Tuesday, December 6, with strong winds expected and potential travel disruption.

A yellow warning for snow is in place in the North West and Scotland from 11am on Tuesday until midnight, which could affect areas of Greater Manchester.

Frank Saunders, a Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office said: “Strong winds arriving across the west through Tuesday morning, will spread inland and reach eastern areas through the afternoon and early evening.

"Gusts of 45-50 mph are expected widely, with 60-70 mph in exposed coastal locations. The strongest winds will ease across inland areas into the overnight period.”,
