Storm Barra: BBC journalist braves elements for 'incredibly windy' report in Co Down

Cancelled flights, closed Christmas markets and power cuts - these are just some of the marks Storm Barra has made within hours of hitting Northern Ireland.

A yellow warning for rain and wind only came into place at 6am on Tuesday morning, December 7, and the second storm of the season has clearly already made quite the impact.

Many may stay at home or change their travel plans to avoid severe gales, heavy rain and snow forecast in NI.

But one man who braved the weather is BBC News Ireland Correspondent Chris Page.

Chris's BBC Breakfast report from the promenade at Newcastle in Co Down today was "incredibly windy, wow" as the show's host Dan Walker put it.

Standing with his hood up and squinting out of one eye, Chris gave his verdict of the wet weather by the Mourne Mountains.

And we have to say, it really did blow us away...
