Storm Arwen blows caravan down street and dumps it upside down in man's garden

A man was shocked to find a caravan overturned in his garden this morning after gales from Storm Arwen blew it from his neighbour's property 15 doors away.

Kyle Johns from Cwmbran was met with an unexpected surprise in the early hours of November 27 as strong winds blew a caravan into his garden at Five Locks Close.

Storm Arwen has been causing chaos across Wales with winds of up to 80mph battering the country. Dozens of roads are closed, trains have been cancelled and falling trees have damaged properties.

Fortunately, Kyle said that the overturned caravan had not caused any damage to his property, and there was no damage to the caravan itself - although he believes some belongings inside the vehicle were damaged. Miraculously, nobody was hurt as the caravan would up in Kyle's garden - from his neighbours who live around 15 doors away.

Thankfully both parties saw the funny side. Posting the photo on Facebook Kyle said: "If you live in Cwmbran and you’ve woken up an noticed your caravan is missing it’s currently upside down outside our house please contact me to arrange collection

"What a sight to see at 12:30am, windy is an understatement."

Kyle said that the neighbours were quite "embarrassed" about the incident but all was resolved in the end.

He said: "It was stressful seeing this morning. Crazy weather we are having - all sorted now as was local luckily. I Definitely didn’t expect this"

"It was only the street over but at-least 15 houses in between us so it must have gone with a whoosh."

Kyle said he found out about his new garden feature when he was woken up to a thud around midnight, assuming it was the bin blowing, before being woken by his brother.

After posting on social media, the owners were soon found.

"The husband said he wanted rid of it anyways but didn’t quite expect it to vanish in the night," said Kyle.
