Stop what you are doing - Mars have turned Maltesers into biscuits

For years, Maltesers just came in bags - small bags and then big bags.

Then there was the boxes, then the ice cream and the chocolate bars in the shape of Easter bunnies, and then the mainstream chocolate bars themselves.

But now, the firm that makes Maltesers, Mars, have come up with a game-changer - Mars biscuits.

It sounds a little bit like the chocolate bar, but apparently they are biscuits - three 'malty bobbles' per biscuit filled with what the makers describe as 'crisp honeycomb pieces', reported the Manchester Evening News.

Michelle Frost, the general manager at Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats, told The Grocer all about this new product.

"We believe that the combination of the innovative format, unique malty taste and the popularity of the brand will drive new consumers to the category," she said.

"That is as well as providing something new and exciting for regular biscuit fans."

And who is not a biscuit fan?

They are going down a treat on social media, and have been 'soft-launched' in Asda at £1.99 a pack.
