MARGAO: Taking objection to the statement of former social welfare minister Mahadev Naik, who recently joined AAP, that Bhandari samaj was with his party, the working president of Goa Forward Party Kiran Kandolkar advised Naik that he should not take the samaj for granted and to “to stop doing politics over it (caste)”.
“Naik’s statement is wrong. In the past, Naik tried to created a rift in the Bhandari samaj. Then how come our samaj will be with him. He should not try to derive political mileage out of his statement,” Kandolkar said.
He demanded that the government make reservation as per population of each caste, failing which he said that that Bhandari samaj will be forced to stage an agitation.
