'Stop it. I'm meant to be angry with you' - Nottingham Forest fans' joy at arrival of Tyler Blackett

Tyler Blackett has become Nottingham Forest ’s second summer signing, following in the footsteps of Jack Colback who arrived earlier in the week.

Blackett, who came through the ranks at Manchester United, arrives on a free transfer after ending his stay at Reading, where he made more than a century of appearances, adding good strength in depth at the back for Sabri Lamouchi.

The announcement on Saturday morning caught some supporters a little by surprise, though, with most expecting the club to confirm the arrival of striker Lyle Taylor who has agreed terms on a move.

Blackett was the one who came first, and fans were positive about the 26-year-old defender’s arrival, with the overriding feeling from supporters being one of relief, that the club were doing their business early in the window, before the players return for pre-season training next week.

The former Royal came through the United youth academy before joining Reading in 2016 where he went on to make 116 appearances, including 20 last term.

Since making his debut in 2012, Blackett has had loan spells at Birmingham Blackpool and Celtic, whilst also representing England from Under-16 level through to Under-21.

Here’s what fans have been saying about the latest new recruit…
