'Stonewall penalty. Red card. Different game!' - Nottingham Forest fans angry as Reds denied second-half spot-kick in Charlton draw

Nottingham Forest stole a point on their trip to Charlton on Wednesday night - but supporters feel that their side were denied the opportunity of pulling off the ultimate smash and grab.

Forward Sammy Ameobi was brought down inside the area by Sam Field during the second half with a challenge that many would deem to be dangerous and out of control.

But the referee waves play on at the Valley, instead awarding a free-kick outside the area moments later and allowing Field to escape without a booking.

In the end the Reds got justice as substitute Albert Adomah popped up to level with 15 minutes left on the clock, but could it have been a victory on the road for Lamouchi's men?

You've been having your say!

Tommy Thornton: Didn’t deserve to win on the basis of the first half but we were the better side the second and were denied an absolute stonewall penalty.

Sam Nightingale: Penalty. Red card. Different game. On such fine margins.

Arun Johal: Dawson is a rock! Our MoM by far.

Simon Eaton: Two or three passengers in midfield tonight made Charlton look better that they are. Forest have to beat these sort of teams of promotion is the aim.

Adam O'Keefe: A lot better second half. Win at home draw away. No penalty given. Just our luck

Benjamin Jones: Much better in the second half, those are the games we’d have lost last season.

Warren Allsworth: Good point in the end, if perhaps a little undeserved. Dreadful first half, much better second.
