Stones and Aguero start - Man City line up fans want to see vs West Ham

Manchester City fans don't want to see injured trio Kevin De Bruyne, Aymeric Laporte and Nathan Ake rushed back to face West Ham.

The three players missed the midweek win over Porto, with De Bruyne and Laporte also missing last weekend's win over Arsenal. Pep Guardiola said some would be ready to return, but some wouldn't, when he gave a cryptic injury message in his pre-match press conference.

De Bruyne and Laporte returned to training this week, but both are so important to City that their long-term fitness shouldn't be risked unnecessarily. And it seems fans agreed when picking their best starting XI to face West Ham on Saturday.

Using MEN Sport's team selector widget, fans opting not to include any of the injured trio in the most popular team was a clear message to Pep Guardiola, with John Stones picked at the back instead of Laporte.

Ruben Dias, Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo complete the defence, with the same midfield three from the Porto game picked. That means Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri and Bernardo Silva in the centre.

Then, fans have chosen to give Raheem Sterling a well-deserved rest, with Ferran Torres replacing him on the right wing. Riyad Mahrez and Sergio Aguero have been backed to continue their good form up front.

Fans most popular XI to face West Ham: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo; Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo; Mahrez, Torres, Aguero.
