Stone pelting on dalit’s baraat in MP: 48 houses razed in Rajgarh district

BHOPAL: More than 48 houses, 18 of them belonging to people against whom FIR has been lodged for stone pelting on a dalit’s wedding procession were bulldozed by government authorities in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.

The action followed hours after they were served notices stating they had encroached on government properties.

NHRC notices to CS, DGP: Meanwhile the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, has taken a suo motu cognizance of a media report about the attack on wedding procession. It has issued notices to the chief secretary and the director general of police, MP calling for a detailed report within four weeks.
