Stolen vehicle pursued on Tuggeranong Parkway

Police are seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage of a black Jeep allegedly seen driving dangerously along Tuggeranong Parkway on Wednesday.

The stolen vehicle was first detected on Caswell Drive in Bruce about 10.55am.

Police then followed the Jeep along Tuggeranong Parkway.

The driver of the vehicle allegedly failed to stop for officers after stop sticks were successfully deployed near Cotter Road, deflating the front tyre.

Police pursued the Jeep which exited at Hindmarsh Drive before conducting a U-turn to head north on the southbound lanes of the Tuggeranong Parkway. Officers then ended the pursuit due to safety concerns.

The Jeep was later found abandoned on Fowles Street in Weston. The offender could not be located.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have information about the incident or have dash-cam footage of the Jeep from about 11am on Wednesday.

Anyone with information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website and quote reference 6825461. Information can be provided anonymously.
