'Stolen vehicle' involved in car crash on Wells Road

Officers have responded to a crash in south Bristol that police believe may have involved a stolen vehicle.

The collision happened on the A37 Wells Road in Knowle shortly before 7pm (Friday, November 5) in the area near Crowndale Road.

Officers are conducting enquiries into what happened.

PC Joe Iles, an Avon and Somerset police officer based in Bristol, tweeted a photo from the scene of the accident.

Although the smash itself is not visible in the photo, a police vehicle is parked outside the Co-op supermarket.

The A37 is a key road stretching from central Bristol, just south of Temple Meads station, down to Podimore, just north of Yeovil.

According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the collision was cleared around 7:20pm.
