Stolen underwear and a man urinating on a library - it's been a strange day for Stockport police officers

A 'quantity of lace underwear' was seized while an investigation was launched into a man urinating on a library during a bizarre morning of crime busting for Stockport police.

Local officers posted about the strange array of jobs they dealt with during the first four hours of their shift on Thursday.

Two offensive weapons were also found, and a wanted male was caught by officers.

The post, on the GMP Stockport Facebook page, said: "The Central Office team have been busy this morning.

"In the first four hours of their shift, PCSO Smith and PC Taylor have recovered three separate items:

"Two offensive weapons.

"A vehicle for no insurance and no driving licence.

"Some personal belongings including a quantity of lace underwear...

Police also found knives (GMP Stockport)

"If you are the owner of the personal items please let us know.

"PCSO Edge and PCSO Bray caught a wanted male who was on recall to prison, spotted by the eagle eyed PCSO Smith.

"They have also investigated reports of a male urinating in Stockport Library - enquiries are ongoing.

"An incident of theft from person has also occurred this morning on Merseyway, a crime has been submitted and enquiries are ongoing."

The officer who wrote the status, 'Harriet', took the opportunity to remind people to keep their handbag zip closed, and to not leave phones sticking out of pockets.
