Stolen firearms seized in Chisholm warrant

Two stolen firearms, ammunition, a taser-like device, a gel blaster, counterfeit currency and other assorted stolen property were among the items seized by police during a search warrant on a Chisholm residence on Friday.

Neither of the firearms were the police-issue Glock pistol or a shotgun, both of which have been the subject of recent investigations in the ACT. Police would only reveal that the firearms were stolen from NSW.

No arrests have been made in relation to the seizures and investigations are ongoing.

Friday's warrant was executed by the newly-instigated Proactive Intervention and Disruption Team, formed to take what police described as "a proactive and system-wide approach to crime prevention, disruption and response".

ACT police are still searching for a Glock service pistol stolen from an AFP officer's vehicle in Fraser almost two weeks ago. They are also hunting those responsible for discharging a shotgun into an empty car parked in Coombs three days ago.
