Stolen dog reunited with owner after desperate campaign to bring him home

A stolen dog has been reunited with his owner after a huge appeal in Glasgow to bring him home.

Blake, a six-year-old white and sandy Lhasa Apso, was stolen from outside a Nisa Extra shop on Ballater Street in the Gorbals at about 9.40pm on Tuesday (October 8).

A huge social media campaign to find him was launched after his owner Kirsteen Marshall issued an emotional appeal for him to be found.

As well as a £5,000 reward for his safe return, a JustGiving page was also set up to raise more money.

Blake was rescued from the Possil area at around 2am yesterday.

Kirsteen has now issued a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped with the campaign.

She said: "Thank you so so so much to every single person across the world who shared our posts. It was indeed the social media efforts that led us right to the door of where Blake was being held.

"Many lessons have been learned and Blake will never be out of our sight again. Let it be known that the people of Glasgow will not give up. Wrong dog, wrong community, wrong city! We did this the old school way and it worked. If you ever lose your loved one never ever give up. Miracles happen."
