Police are looking for two suspects who rammed a patrol car up to seven times overnight in Adelaide's north-west.
Police said a white BMW sedan was stolen from a house in Sheidow Park, in Adelaide's south, about 11:30pm yesterday.
An occupant of the Enginehouse Drive home was punched in the face and kicked when he confronted the male robbers while they were stealing his car keys.
Police said the suspects fled in the stolen BMW sedan while four other men followed in a blue Holden Commodore sedan.
A patrol spotted the BMW parked in Glanville, 30 kilometres north, about 45 minutes later and tried to block the car from leaving.
Police said it was then that the BMW rammed an unmarked police car up to seven times before driving off.
Another car pursued the stolen vehicle through Port Adelaide but terminated the chase for safety reasons.
Police said the car was then dumped in nearby Ferryden Park.
Police cordoned off the area and searched for the suspects with the assistance of a police dog but did not find anyone.
They were described as being of Aboriginal appearance.
The car owner received bruises.
No police were injured.
