These pictures show the dramatic aftermath of a crash involving a suspected stolen BMW early this morning.
The white car smashed into some railings and also took out a set of traffic lights at Breeze Hill in Bootle in the early hours.
The driver fled the scene before police arrived.

Pictures taken at the site of the incident, which happened at around 1.30am, showed the badly damaged BMW along with a number of police vehicles alongside.
The doors of the BMW are wide open and the force of the impact has led to railings being bent and twisted. The traffic light has also been left badly damaged.
