An apprentice from Achieve Training has been named as a finalist for a prestigious national award.
Aaminah Ahmed, a learner services apprentice at Stoke-on-Trent-based Achieve, has been shortlisted in the charity, voluntary and public services category of the BAME Apprenticeship Awards 2021.
The awards – which received a record number of more than 300 entries this year – aim to showcase the outstanding work and achievement of apprentices from black and minority ethnic groups (BAME) and inspire apprentices to reach their full potential.

The awards also raise the profile of employers and training providers across the UK, who are championing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Twenty three-year-old Aaminah, who works in the Learner Services team at Achieve Training, said: "I'm delighted to have reached the finals.
"I want to use my experience to showcase my journey to other young people in my area and in my industry to show that apprenticeships are the way forward.
"You can earn whilst you learn and you don’t have to go to university because you can progress in an apprenticeship."
Achieve Training is the largest independent provider of apprenticeships for 16 to 18-year-olds in Staffordshire, having supported more than 25,000 individuals since 1982.
It currently holds partnerships with more than 1,600 organisations.
The winners will be announced on Thursday, September 30 at the BAME Apprentice Network annual gala dinner in Birmingham.
