Stoke City vs Nottingham Forest predicted XI: Samba Sow rested, Tobias Figueiredo or Scott McKenna

Nottingham Forest play their final game of a miserable 2020 when they go to Stoke City tonight, kick-off 8pm.

The Reds hover precariously above the Championship relegation zone with their opponents having genuine play-off hopes under Michael O'Neill's management.

Here, we take a look at how Forest could line-up at Stoke.

Given it is their eighth match of the month and they go to Preston on Saturday, it is not unreasonable to expect Chris Hughton to make changes to his line-up.

Defender Scott McKenna has returned to training after struggling with an ankle injury, but he has only taken part in a handful of sessions.

With that in mind, Hughton is likely to keep faith Joe Worrall and Tobias Figueiredo after Forest kept a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw at home to Birmingham City.

In front of them, Samba Sow might well be in for a rest given his injury problems, while Sammy Ameobi made little impact against Birmingham.

It would not be a surprise if Alex Mighten was also given a break so as not to overburden the teenager.

With that in mind, both Joe Lolley and Anthony Knockaert could come in, meaning there would be three changes in total from the team which faced Birmingham.

Forest predicted XI: Samba, Christie, Figueiredo, Worrall, Ribeiro; Yates, Arter; Knockaert, Cafu, Lolley; Grabban
