Stoke City star Joe Allen taken off on stretcher as Wales handed concern ahead of Euro 2020

Wales midfielder Joe Allen has been taken from the field on a stretcher during today's Stoke City match against Hull.

Allen had his leg strapped to the stretcher before he was carried away by a team of doctors and physios, having helped Stoke go 3-0 up during a blistering start.

The Welshman tripped over Hull's Danny Batty just before half-time and landed awkwardly a second before the half-time whistle. He  briefly limped on before going down, StokeonTrent Live report.

Medics ran on to give Allen attention and he received treatment for several minutes before leaving the field to a standing ovation.

The serious-looking injury is a worry for Wales boss Ryan Giggs ahead of this summer's European Championships in June.

Allen is a key man for Wales and has been in fine form for Stoke under Michael O'Neil.
