Stoke City have confirmed the signing of the teenage winger Moha El Ouriachi from Barcelona.
The 19-year-old Moroccan, who chose not to extend his contract in Spain, is currently with the team on their pre-season tour of Singapore, and links up with fellow ex-Barça players Bojan and Marc Muniesa.
El Ouriachi has played for Spain at youth level, and has featured in Morocco’s under-23 squad.
Stoke’s chief executive Tony Scholes told the club’s website: “He’s excited about joining a Premier League club, especially one that already has two former Barcelona players in their squad. Moha has seen the progress made by Bojan and Marc and wants to try and do likewise.”
In April, the winger’s agent Raul Verdu told Spanish media: “We thank Barça for the deal they offered the player and the efforts they have gone to try to renew his contract. But another proposal was really interesting on both a professional and economic level. Moha has the option of joining the first team squad at Stoke and that was irresistible.”
