Michael O'Neill has offered his support to James McClean after the Republic of Ireland star opened up on the disgusting abuse he has been subject to.
McClean revealed today that he woke up to more sickening abuse this morning after a troll said his kids should be tied to chairs and made to watch him burn.
Stoke City boss O'Neill says the 31-year-old has the support of everyone at the Championship club.
He said: "You'll never be able to question James's appetite for the game, his work rate and his energy - there's no doubt about that.
"Obviously what's come out in the media in the last couple of days is disappointing but he has the support of everyone here at the club.
"I didn't think he had his best game (against Sheffield Wednesday) but he gave everything for us and I'll have a chat with him this week just to make sure he's in the right frame of mind to give his best.
"When James is at his best, he gives us something on that left side and what we got from him last season was terrific. It would be great to get that again in the second half of this season."
