Stockport town centre is getting a new ten-pin bowling alley.
The Light Cinema has been granted planning permission to expand into a currently vacant neighbouring unit at its Redrock site.
It will see the creation of six 48ft lanes, which will be accessed through the cinema's existing lobby.
Planning documents about the application, which was approved by Stockport Council this week, describe the £45m entertainment complex's food and retail outlets as being 'difficult to let' and proposes changing the retail use of the space as a solution.

Documents read: "The cinema has proved to be a viable and useful addition to the centre of town. It is usually playing to full houses.
"Conversely, the retail and food and beverage outlets are proving very difficult to let.
"Thus the Light Cinema is looking to join the existing vacant next door unit to their successful cinemas foyer and provide an additional bowling entertainment function to their foyer, coffee area and the small conference space on the ground floor."
It comes eight years after another town centre bowling alley, which was based at Grand Central before it was demolished in 2018, closed.
Redrock, which opened in 2017, is also home to a gym, as well as a number of food and drink outlets, including Zizzi, Pizza Express, Berretto Lounge and Mangobean.
