Stockbridge and Leith Markets to open back up online during coronavirus pandemic

Edinburgh food and drink lovers can rejoice, as the popular Stockbridge and Leith Markets will be virtually re-opening.

According to EEN, the two markets which were forced to close due to the coronavirus lockdown, will now be opening back up online.

Both Stockbridge and Leith market will be joining NeighbourFood - an online community which allows you to order food and produce from your favourite farmers' markets and then pick it up.

You will be able to browse the two Edinburgh markets on Saturday and Sunday evenings through until Thursday on the NeighbourhoodFood website.

A variety of stalls will be making their online debut including The Olive Stall, Steampunk Coffee, and Trodden Black Jams.

You can also treat yourself in lockdown to a Caurnie Soaps and fans of the stall are encouraged to regularly check for new stalls popping up.

The website works by allowing locals to add what they want from the website and they can then pick it up safely from the market afterward.

Both Stockbridge and Leith Markets be allowing people to come and collect their orders on a Sunday.

Customers are encouraged to bring along their own bags and use contactless payments.
