New figures have revealed that more than 47,000 people across Stirling have now been offered at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The latest Public Health Scotland data for the period up to May 2 reports that 47,462 people have been given their first dose – 60.2 per cent of the region’s population.
Meanwhile, the number receiving their second dose in Stirling has also broken through the 20,000 mark, with 21,640 second doses being delivered.
Both figures are lower than the average across Forth Valley as a whole – with 158,450 first doses and 74,093 second doses reported.
The highest rates of vaccine rollout are seen in Orkney, Shetland, Western Isles and Dumfries and Galloway while the populous areas of Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lothian and Grampian account for the lowest rates.
Across Stirling, 93 per cent of those in the 50-54 age group have now received their initial jab – with more than a third of the opening vaccines also now being delivered to the 40-49 group.
The pace of the rollout of second doses locally can also be seen, with more than 90 per cent of second doses dished out to those over the age of 75 – while 84.8 per cent of those in the 70-74 bracket have also been offered the crucial dose.
The latest numbers show that 2,824,955 people have now been given their first vaccination across Scotland, while 1,326,599 second doses have been administered nationally.
