Stirling’s university campus is to be the latest venue for a Covid vaccination centre.
The new centre is opening on Saturday August 14 at the university, allowing members of the public, students and university staff to receive their vaccine.
The facility is being set up in the university’s Pathfoot building and will offer both drop in and scheduled appointments.
Anyone currently living in Scotland who requires a first or second dose of the vaccine can attend. This includes international students arriving on campus and those who are not yet registered with a GP.
The centre will operate seven-days-a-week, from 8.30am-7pm, and will have capacity to deliver up to 600 vaccinations a day, increasing vaccination capacity across the region. It will sit alongside NHS Forth Valley’s existing community vaccination sites.
Eileen Schofield, University Secretary and Covid Response Lead, said: “Vaccination is key for the protection of our students, staff and our wider community and I’m grateful for the work of my university colleagues and NHS Forth Valley in establishing this centre.
“We are proud to be able to host this facility and, in turn, support the national effort to get people vaccinated and stop the spread of Covid-19.”

Jillian Taylor, NHS Forth Valley’s Operational Lead for the Covid-19 vaccination programme, said: “It’s great to be able to offer an additional vaccination clinic on the University of Stirling site, particularly for young people who may not have taken up the offer of vaccination. Anyone who is aged 18 or over by October 31, 2021 can attend this new vaccination clinic or any of the other clinics here in Forth Valley, or anywhere in Scotland.
“We know that getting both doses of the vaccine offers maximum protection against the virus, so if it has been eight weeks or more since your first jab, please attend for your second one. Details of local drop-in clinics are available on our website.”
