Stirling ice skaters take to frozen field to showcase their skills

Members of a Stirling figure skating club made the most of the freezing temperatures by sharpening their skills outdoors.

Performers from Stirling New Figure Skating Club pulled on their blades and used their natural surroundings to practice.

The skaters had an inconsistent 2020, with the coronavirus pandemic forcing their rink, at The Peak, to close for long spells.

However, young skaters headed outdoors as the temperatures plummeted this week.

Skaters took to a field in Denny after a large puddle froze solid. That gave the youngsters the perfect environment to perform their maneouveurs.

Other member of the Stirling club who live outside of the area also found their own patches of ice to practice.

Some headed to frozen water bodies in Glenboig, Lanarkshire, and Queen’s Park, in Glasgow.
