Stirling city centre street closed by police over fears of falling debris from buildings

Police have this evening closed off a section of a city centre street following concerns of falling debris from buildings there.

Officers set up a cordon in Barnton Street, blocking off access to pedestrians and vehicles, after concerns were raised.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance in Barnton Street, Stirling, following a report of falling debris from buildings which was received at 5.20pm on Thursday, April 8.

"The road is currently closed near to the junction with Maxwell Place."

It's understood that the incident may have occurred as a result of high winds.

Representatives from Stirling Council are also believed to be in attendance.
