Still too early in week to know Jamal Adams’ status for Sunday

Seattle Seahawk Jamal Adams is itching to get back onto the football field, but it may be at least another week before the star safety will see any action.

Adams was inactive Sunday in Miami due to a groin injury he suffered the Sunday before in the game against the Cowboys. Coach Pete Carroll was asked about Adams’ status during his Monday press conference.

“I’m gonna hold out hope,’’ Carroll told reporters. “I don’t know Jamal real well in these situations. I know he’s dying to get back, he’s been sending me messages and stuff, how much he wants to play and get out there and all that. We’ll have to wait and see how that works.

“It’s just too early in the week to know.’’

The Seahawks don’t return to practice until Wednesday and are not required to release a participation report until then. Seattle’s next matchup is set for Sunday night against the Vikings.
