Places are still available for a new ScraperWiki event: Hacks and Hackers Hack Day Leeds - a chance for web developers and designers to pair up with journalists and bloggers to produce projects and stories based on public data.
Community events co-ordinator for ScraperWiki, Judith Townend, said:
"The idea of these events is to bring bloggers and journalists together with computer programmers and web designers and see what happens, without too much prescriptive planning. We hope to attract 'hacks' and 'hackers' from all different types of backgrounds: people from big media organisations, as well as individual online publishers and freelancers."
Leeds is the fifth stop on ScraperWiki's ambitious Hacks & Hackers UK tour, following Manchester on 15 October.
The free event runs at NtiLeeds at Old Broadcasting House, Woodhouse Lane, on Thursday, 28 October, from 9.30am to 7.30pm.
Sponsors for the event are Guardian Open Platform, Guardian Local and Leeds Trinity Centre for Journalism in Horsforth.
