The NFL and HBO have yet to reveal the team which will be the subject of the training camp documentary “Hard Knocks” in 2019. The Detroit Lions are one of five NFL teams that cannot refuse to be on the popular behind-the-scenes program if selected.
The odds do not favor the Lions. The latest wagering lines from Odds Shark have the Lions a distance behind Washington, Oakland and the New York Giants. Only the San Francisco 49ers are a longer shot:

The Cleveland Browns were announced as the 2018 subject at this time last year. I received a tip from a source that the announcement would come early this past week, but that proved incorrect.
Lions team president Rod Wood had little to say about the potential of appearing on ‘Hard Knocks’ during this week’s Taste of the Lions event.
“It’s not even really on my mind to call and ask about it,” Wood said. “We’re so embroiled in other things that are day-to-day important. The fact that I haven’t heard doesn’t mean yes or no, it’s just I haven’t heard.”
