Still Game star Gavin Mitchell has praised Covid vaccines after becoming ill with the virus since receiving both jags.
The Scottish actor, who is famed for his role as Boaby the Barman, came down with symptoms of Covid after recording a positive test.
Gavin, who is 56-years-old, was lucky to have been given both doses of the vaccine at this point.
Writing on Twitter, he feared that his symptoms could have been a lot worse if he didn’t take up the jags.
He said: “I’ve had both my vaccines and followed the rules but unfortunately still tested positive and still got ill.
“However, I shudder to think where I would be without the vaccine; having already lost friends.”
Gavin later went on to mention that he knows of people his age who have tragically lost their lives to the virus.
He added: “The vaccine doesn’t stop Covid but prevents you from getting seriously ill; and of course there are new strains and mutations.
“Having seen and lost a number of people first hand; and my age group, I’d personally rather take the vaccine, and yeah I think it could have been worse.”
Gavin is one of almost three million Scots to have received both doses of their coronavirus vaccine, according to the latest data.
The Scottish Government said that the vaccine rollout hit a ‘major milestone’ on Sunday, as all scheduled first doses for all adults have now been completed.

All Scots adults are expected to have received both doses of the Covid vaccine by September 12.
The World Health Organisation says that the approved vaccines do not provide 100% protection, but the chances of becoming seriously ill from the virus are greatly lowered.
A spokesperson for the global health body said: “Vaccines can stop most people from getting sick with Covid-19, but not everyone.
“Even after someone takes all of the recommended doses and waits a few weeks for immunity to build up, there is still a chance that they can get infected.
“Vaccines do not provide full protection, so ‘breakthrough infections’ - where people get the virus, despite having been fully vaccinated - will occur.
“If vaccinated people do get sick, they are likely to have milder symptoms. It is very rate for someone vaccinated to experience severe illness or die.”
