Still Game star Ford Kiernan divides fans over how to pronounce name of popular biscuit

Still Game star Ford Kiernan has his social media followers split after revealing how he pronounces the name of a popular chocolate biscuit.

Ford, who played Jack Jarvis on the legendary show, told fans he had been getting the name of Blue Riband biscuits wrong, as reported by the Daily Record.

The Scottish comedian said he had been pronouncing the name of the chocolate biscuit as "Bloory band".

This sparked a huge debate amongst followers over how the name of the popular biscuit should be pronounced, with some people offering up even more unusual alternatives.

One follower said: "Am a right or a meringue... My Mrs pronounces it Blue Ribbon. She from out of town."

Another fan shared their own cute story and name for the biscuit: "My wee brother (when he was really wee) called them "Drummers". Because all he heard was "band" when someone mentioned them. It's stuck for over 30 years now."

Fans rallied round the actor mostly agreeing that the right way to pronounce the biscuits were "Bloory band" or "meringue".

Others took aim at the comedians choice of biscuits: "Widny allow them in the hoose, pish biscuits."

Another agrees writing: "I’ve always pronounced them, RUBBISH BISCUITS."
