Still Game loves Glasgow: Tribute to city's iconic venues in second last ever episode

The Craiglang pensioners proved once and for all they are truly Young at Heart last night.

The second last episode of the final series went down a storm across Glasgow (as well as the rest of the country) thanks, in part, to a few celebrity cameos.

But we think it was the stunning backdrop which made episode five even more special - for the OAPs celebrated Winston's last-minute wedding in the glasshouse of the People's Palace and Winter Gardens.

As most Glaswegians know, the glasshouse is currently closed due to safety issues, and it's not set to be reopened anytime soon, so this was an apt venue as the cast prepare their swansong for fans.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house as the pals all rallied to make Winston's big day (or big night) one to remember.

After bumping into an old acquaintance, Jack and Victor hatched a plan to find the perfect venue.

Played by Stuart Bowman, Andy Forrester agreed to let the gang into the historical museum overnight to host the shindig.

But it wasn't just the People's Palace which featured.

After revealing he used to be a bouncer at the QMU "back in the day" Boaby spent the whole episode taking pelters from a host of big name celebrities, as he tried to track down a wedding band ( who knew Midge Ure had such a foul mouth?).

But all his efforts came to fruition, when he managed to get 80s rockers The Bluebells to perform their legendary hit, Young At Heart.

And it ended with an all night sesh and conga round the glasshouse - how Glasgow can you get?

Join us on Thursday, March 28 to give Jack, Victor and co a proper Glasgow send off! The Glasgow Live Facebook page will become Craiglang Live for a night - and we have lots of treats in store for fans (even Isa hasn’t heard what we’ve got up our sleeves just yet …)
