Still Game gains 'new fans' as Squid Game viewers watch Netflix show by accident

Still Game actor Sanjeev Kohli claims the show has accidentally gained new fans after being mistaken for viral sensation Squid Game.

The Korean series is currently Netflix number 1 performing TV show and has become a worldwide success.

The Hunger Games style show sees poverty hit contestants risk their life to win nostalgic playground games has amassed mire than 62 million viewers across the globe.

Sanjeev, who plays Naveed in beloved Scots comedy Still Game, which is also available to watch on the streaming app, says their show has been getting new viewers due to their similar titles.

He wrote: "A big hello to the millions of you have found Still Game on Netflix thinking it was Squid Game. If you’re wondering when the culling starts, it’s at the end of season nine so stick with it."

Still Game fans couldn't help but laugh at the thought of the Craiglang pensioners participating in the Korean show.

One wrote: "To be fair, those pensioners never had a chance playing red light, green light in those Timpsons."

Another added: "Who wins a Craiglang Squid Game? My money is on Isa. She'd have insider knowledge on each game coming up sorted."

While one joked: "Every time a player is eliminated, the big glass container fills up with more beefy bakes. Winner takes it aw, runner up gets hee haw!"
