Still Game fans surprised after shock deaths in final ever episode

Fans of Still Game have been left emotional after a heartbreaking final episode of the iconic show.

In a shocking twist, viewers watched on as the beloved characters - who we've followed for nine series - each faded away marking an end to their time on our screens.

Just as they ascend, Jack asks "do you think they'll know where we went?", to which Victor replied: "they'll know where we went."

Jack, played by Ford Kiernan, and Victor, played by Greg Hemphill, bowed out of the iconic BBC show during a trip to Ben Lomond with the rest of the gang.

The duo, along with other old favourites like Winston, Navid, Tam and Isa could all be seen vanishing to the other side - marking a passing of time as their lives come to an end.

Still Game Live add extra dates as iconic show calls last orders on final series

In another shock twist, the face of Meena, which has been unknown for years, was revealed, to the delight of viewers - just before she faded away.

Fans of the hit show - who had been left with mixed opinions over the final series - flooded social media after the shocking ending.

The only characters to remain were Boabby the Barman and Methadone Mick - both of whom were much younger than the other favourites.

Viewers were treated to a cinematic sequence as each character faded away, including a tug-on-heartstrings moment outside the flats of Jack, Victor and Isa.

The camera then cut to the Clansman, where a much older Boabby welcomed viewers - again showing the passing of time - before uttering his classic phrase for the final time: "well, look who it isny".

The episode marks a farewell for the gang on out TV screens, but there is still a chance to see them in action.
