Still Game creators rule out comeback of beloved comedy series

Greg Hemphill has revealed that he and writing partner Ford Kiernan have agreed they will never revive Still Game.

Craiglang codgers Jack and Victor appeared to be killed off in an emotional final episode last February, and Hemphill, 50, insisted there will be no more comebacks for the duo.

Speaking on BBC Scotland programme Shelf Isolation, which airs on Sunday, he said: “We were very nervous about bringing it back the first time, in 2014.

“Ford and I tried to make a list of sitcoms that had come back and been successful and it’s a very very short list.

“We wouldn’t chance our luck and bring it back a second time. That’s why we ended it the way we did.”
