Still Game actor Ford Kiernan splits fans in row over name of popular chocolate biscuit

Still Game actor Ford Kiernan has his Twitter followers divided over the name of a beloved biscuit.

Ford, who played Jack Jarvis on the hit show, told his followers he had been getting the name of Blue Riband biscuits wrong.

The Scots comedian wrote he had been pronouncing the name of the chocolate biscuit as "Bloory band".

His comments sparked debate amongst followers over how the name of the biscuit should be pronounced.

One follower said: "Am a right or a meringue... My Mrs pronounces it Blue Ribbon. She from out of town."

Another fan shared their own cute story and name for the biscuit: "My wee brother (when he was really wee) called them "Drummers". Because all he heard was "band" when someone mentioned them. It's stuck for over 30 years now."

Fans rallied round the actor mostly agreeing that the right way to pronounce the biscuits were "Bloory band" or "meringue".

Others took aim at the comedians choice of biscuits: "Widny allow them in the hoose, pish biscuits."

Another agrees writing: "I’ve always pronounced them, RUBBISH BISCUITS."
