The main characters in this book are a boy called Barney and a man called Stig. Barney has come to stay at his Grandma’s and Stig lives in an old chalk pit which is being used as a dump. Barney helps Stig improve his den and they have adventures together. But why does Stig live in a dump? And why doesn’t he understand modern things? You’ll have to read the book to find out!
I’ve read this book three times it is so good. It is one of the most amazing books ever. It’s a funny and exciting book. It makes you think about what it would be like to live in a world you don’t really understand.
I’d recommend this book to 6 to 11 year olds who like adventurous books.
