Stick Man coming to the stage for 10th anniversary show

It’s a much loved children’s favourite and now Stick Man is heading to the stage on Merseyside.

The show is on tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the story, which tells the tale of Stick Man as he longs to get back to the family tree.

The adorable character goes on quite the journey as he is stopped in his tracks by a dog who wants to play fetch with him and a swan who uses him to make a nest.

But will Stick Man meet a sticky ending when a child decides he’d be good for a fire? Theatre goers will have to wait and see, when the production comes to Southport’s The Atkinson theatre this month.

The show is adapted from the book by Julia Donaldson, who is the multi award-winning author of The Gruffalo, Room on a Broom and Zog, amongst many others. The tale was also turned into an animated film in 2015, with Martin Freeman, Jennifer Saunders and Hugh Bonneville providing the voices.

The theatre production in Southport will be staged at 1.30pm and 4pm on Saturday, October 19.
