Stewartstown Road closed after "road traffic collision"

Emergency services attended the scene of an incident in West Belfast involving a car and a pedestrian on Friday.

Police said that the Stewartstown Road was closed due to a road traffic collision.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, said: "NIAS dispatched two emergency crews to the scene and the HEMS crew was also tasked to the incident, responding by car.

"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, the patient was taken by ambulance to Royal Victoria Hospital."

Diversions are currently in place. 

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
