Stewartry Pony Club hold awards night with summer theme after stormy weather

Stewartry Pony Club’s awards night had a summer theme to cheer everyone up after the storms.

Living up to its #smallbutmighty slogan, Eden McCulloch and Amelia Craig qualified to represent the club at the national finals of the Dengie Winter Series and the summer eventing.

Oliver and Kristina Campbell represented the club at the regional dressage finals and were joined by Eva Henklemann for the regional eventing.

Jasmine McCulloch came third in the junior event at area show jumping.

The club has a tradition of supporting Pony Club tetrathlon and this was rewarded in 2019 with Oliver Campbell winning the area mini boys and representing Scotland in Ireland and Amelia Craig winning the open girls Scottish championship. She was also part of the Scottish team which came second in the national finals.

New district commissioner Sarah Burton said: “I am loving being part of Pony Cub. I still have loads to learn but it has been great to watch all the members develop this year.

“The dismounted rallies which allow us to have non-riding members of the club and teach the kids how to look after their ponies continue to be popular. It was great to see Anna Graham and Jessica Hunter-Brown get their gold mini achievement awards.”
