Stewartry piper helps bring in 2021 on Jools Holland's Hootenanny

A Stewartry soldier helped bring in the New Year on national television.

Robert Fair was one of four pipers and two from 1st Battalion Scots Guards performing on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny on Hogmanay.

Robert has been in the Army since 2016 when he joined as a guardsman and won an award for best overall class two student at the Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming in Edinburgh in 2018.

However, he will be leaving the Army later this year to work with his parents Kerry and Rab on the family business at Fairhill, Crocketford.

Fairhill Services provides placements for vulnerable adults to come out to help on the farm.
