There has been some notable successes for Stewartry Karate Club recently.
Fraser Howard from Cargenbridge, who is an assistant instructor and coach at the club has achieved his 4th Dan Black Belt in Shotokan karate at the Scottish Budokan Association Dan grading event at Airdrie on November 28.
Fraser started his karate journey in 1998, passing his 1st Dan Black Belt in 2010
The Kyu belts grading at Kirkcudbright Academy on November 21 was a great success with more than 40 students passing the next belt.
The Stewartry Inter Club Grand Prix Final was held at Castle Douglas Town Hall on December 1. The medal winners were: Ross Lachlan, Sam Murphy, Aaron Clement, Alexander Rutherford, Gregor Baird, Rubin Hamilton, Eamon McFarlane, Tobias Higgs, Morgan McGowan, Archie Campbell, Django Spyergrubb, Matthew Hunter, Alex McMenemy, Wallace Campbell, Grace Hunter, Alba Higgs, Lottie Spyergrubb, Niamh Millar and Eillidh Rutherford.
Club Trophy: 1 Castle Douglas; 2 Dalbeattie; 3 Kirkcudbright.
